HOW CAN THE TRAVEL CLUB PROVIDE THIS TRIP?
Our 33 Year travel experience is completely unique because we are NOT a travel agency and we only provide specific educational travel experiences. Our non-profit (501c3) trip is provided by vendors at a substantial discount because of the charity fundraising educational mission of our travel club to support the local community. There are no other charges or commissions for the travel experience. You then have access to this significantly discounted Travel Club trip and all-new trips that are ADDED WEEKLY.
All proceeds for this Happening Travel Club Trip will be donated to the Florida AIDS Walk. People over 50 make up the majority of new cases of HIV and by 2030 nearly 70% of new cases of HIV are estimated to be over 60. The Happening Travel Club is proud to support the largest AIDS charity event in Florida to help fight that growing epidemic. Your payment is giving directly to the Florida AIDS Walk nonprofit 501(c)3 charity.
Most of our Travel Club members wish to handle their own air reservations. This is because airlines have so many various offers on choice of flights, seat assignment at time of booking, baggage inclusions, boarding order, layover and connection times and issues related to change fees. Also, if you have any emergency issues before or during your travel our members should be in control of their own tickets and emergency needs. As a result it is counterproductive to have a third party involved in your air ticket. The Travel Club recommends you do not purchase your airline ticket earlier than 90 days prior to departure and that you can use a tracking tool (like google or kayak to follow air flight costs and the absolute best choices for your air.)
From Florida there are great air carrier choices. There are wonderful nonstop choices to Panama City from Orlando, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale and Miami at very good value. And regardless of what flights you choose the Travel Club provides private transfers between your airport arrival and Panama City hotel and from the rainforest jungle resort back to the Panama City airport.

Today you begin a wonderful week to enjoy a Panama Canal cruise and exploration of Panama. You enjoy transfers upon your arrival at Panama City Airport to your leisurely 4 night stay at the first class (3 star) or deluxe (4 star) hotel in the heart of the capital. Tonight you enjoy happy hour and welcome dinner to meet your Travel Club escort and fellow tour guests.
PANAMA CITY SIGHTSEEING
Breakfast is included this morning at the hotel. Today we have a day of comprehensive sightseeing of Panama City. You will visit Balboa Plaza. This is one of the main commercial shopping areas in Panama and is a wonder to behold. You will see the casino which is the largest in Central America. Visit the famous Parque Urraca which is Panama’s most beautiful city park surrounded by greenery and great views of the entire city. In the Western Hemisphere, only New York, Chicago and Miami have a larger city skyline than Panama City. it is a sight to behold from Urraca. Another major highlight today is your first jaw-dropping look at the Panama Canal. Frequently appearing in the list of the seven wonders of the modern world, and one of the most influential feats in human history, no trip to Panama is complete without seeing the canal and its awe-inspiring locks. This engineering marvel is a fifty-mile waterway that has been operating since 1914 and transports ships from sea level to 85 feet via a series of gravity-powered locks! It is truly a sight to behold.
PANAMA CITY AND ITS SURROUNDINGS
Today breakfast is included. Today you have another wonderful day of sightseeing. Panama has it all, from incredible technological triumphs to some of the most stunning natural areas in the world. You’ll see the Biomuseo, a biodiversity museum created by the famous Frank Gehry. The explosive colours of its exterior make it very hard to miss! Learn all about Panama’s incredible variety of life and its impact on the world’s biodiversity. You will visit the famous Flamenco Island, or Flamingo Island. Named for the famous Pink Birds that are here you will be able to take a walk along the beautiful marina and admire the stunning views of the skyline. Today’s highlight is Panama’s charming Casco Antiguo, the old town, dating back to 1673. This is where you’ll find the true heart of the city. Wander around its characterful winding streets, have a chinwag with the friendly locals and snap the perfect holiday pictures in front of colourful, crumbling buildings. Today will be an amazing experience.
PANAMA CANAL CRUISE THROUGH THE LOCKS
This morning breakfast is included at the Hotel. Today is one of the great travel experiences of the world as you enjoy a 6 hour small ship cruise on the Panama Canal through the locks. Sail on the Pacific Queen (one way to maximize your experience) including lunch aboard the ship. This 250 passenger small ship is perfect for a “birds eye view” of the Panama Canal compared to the experience on a 5000 passenger cruise ship. All transfers and narrated sightseeing throughout the cruise are highlights today.
PANAMA CANAL RAINFOREST & JUNGLE TO SUMMIT RAINFOREST RESORT
Breakfast is included today. You enjoy a scenic journey deep into the Panama Canal zone to world famous Gamboa. You will arrive at the deluxe (4 star) Summit Rainforest Resort. Sitting on a massive 160 acres, Summit Rainforest is the most luxurious hotel in the Panama jungle and rainforest. Here the resort acts like a cruise ship that will include dozens of activities, sightseeing and more.
PANAMA RAINFOREST & JUNGLE SIGHTSEEING
Breakfast is included at the hotel. Today will feature the natural wonders of the Panamanian Canal Zone ecology. Visit the Butterfly Gardens, the Frog Pond protective zone and the Sloth Rescue & Rehabilitation Center. Other highlights include the Summit Botanical Gardens and the Rainforest Discovery Center. Today is a wonderful experience in the heart of the Rainforest in such luxurious accommodations.
ENJOY SUMMIT RAINFOREST CRUISE-LIKE ACTIVITIES
This morning breakfast is included at the hotel. Today you enjoy the organized activities of your 160 acre resort. They include choices like Karaoke, Bingo , mini golf, outdoor films, campfire with smores in the jungle and a summit rainforest trail tour. You can take the complimentary tour to the locks to visit the Miraflores Canal Zone. You can also enjoy a unique guided golf cart animal tour where you may see Panama’s unique species. Tonight your escort will host a happy hour and then a wonderful farewell dinner to celebrate the amazing week you have experienced in Panama.
PANAMA CITY AIRPORT AND FLY TO USA
Breakfast is included this morning. Today you will enjoy private transfers from the Summit Rainforest Resort to the Panama City Airport. Fly home to the USA with many wonderful memories of your leisurely city and jungle experience in Panama and it’s famous canal.
This is the best way to experience the Panama Canal, river and locks. Designed specifically for day tours and cruises, the Pacific Queen is a Norwegian built cruiser with a capacity for 250 passengers. You will enjoy its two spacious, enclosed decks, fully equipped with air conditioning and a comfortable seating arrangement. In addition, an open-air third deck serves as an ideal vantage point from which to enjoy your cruise and relax in a tropical setting. The vessel’s bow can accommodate additional passengers, and enjoys an open-air setting. Onboard the Pacific Queen they operate a souvenir shop, complete with local handcrafts, Panama Canal souvenirs and more.
In the first floor, you will find a lounge area and bar where food and drinks are served and the Travel Club includes lunch on board. The Pacific Queen has a speaker system for tour guide narration of the cruises. The Pacific Queen has six conveniently located restrooms to ensure a comfortable trip. The Panama Canal cruise begins at the north end of the Gaillard cut, where the Chagres River flows into the canal. The Gaillard Cut (also known as Culebra Cut because its curves resemble a snake) is one of the main points of interest for visitors because it was carved through the Continental Divide and this section of the Canal is full of history and geological value.
The Pacific Queen will travel to Pedro Miguel Locks. As you transit the Cut you will be able to appreciate the continuous maintenance that this area requires, because it is very susceptible to landslides. Before reaching the Pedro Miguel Locks at the southern end of the Cut, you will be able to view the Centennial Bridge which crosses over the Canal. Next enter Pedro Miguel Locks, which is one of the two sets of locks on the Pacific side, and here the vessel is lowered 18 feet in one step. You will then enter Miraflores Lake, which is a small artificial body of freshwater that separates Pedro Miguel from Miraflores Locks, the latter being the final set of locks before reaching the Pacific Ocean. At Miraflores Locks the vessel is lowered 54 feet in two distinct steps.
You will sail under the Bridge of the Americas and now you are able to admire the Bay of Panama and Panama City’s splendorous skyline. This is one of the great days of your travels in the world.

TRIP TERMS AND PASSENGER RESPONSIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Your booking offer is strictly limited. As an operator, we sell the services of cruises, hotels, restaurants, airlines, attractions, etc. The operator is not responsible for any intentional or unintentional actions or omissions by suppliers. Your TRAVEL CLUB reserves the right to substitute any services of similar or equal quality. Your TRAVEL CLUB cannot be responsible for circumstances, causes, effects, weather, strikes, bankruptcy, etc., of suppliers. Your TRAVEL CLUB cannot guarantee airlines, flight times, seat assignments, hotels, restaurants, shows, motorcoach vendors, or any other suppliers and changes may occur with regard to those suppliers and the services booked. Changes to the suppliers and/or the services booked have in no way any effect on your ability to cancel or waive the cancellation penalties that will be imposed as a result of your cancellation. If airfare is provided by the TRAVEL CLUB depending on the home air gateway, a forced overnight stay in the originating city may be necessary at the traveler’s expense. Entrance & departure taxes assessed by any city, state, or country cannot be prepaid and will be each person’s responsibility at the time of departure.
Special Needs: Guests with special needs including wheelchairs should be self-sufficient or accompanied by a companion to provide any required assistance. Some ports of call and shore excursions may limit special needs passengers from leaving the vessel. Passengers must bring a wheelchair for their own use and must notify the TRAVEL CLUB before final payment.
Acceptance: Acceptance of cruise or tour participation means that the passenger agrees with all of the terms and conditions and that each participant agrees that your TRAVEL CLUB shall not be liable for any damage, loss, or expenses occasioned by any suppliers. It is also agreed by and between the passenger(s) and your TRAVEL CLUB that all disputes and matters whatever arising under, in connection with, or incidental to this agreement shall be litigated, if at all, in and before a court located in the city of Ft Lauderdale, County of Broward, State of Florida, the U.S.A. to exclusion of the courts of any other city, state or country.

These Terms and Conditions will be governed and be interpreted pursuant to the laws of the State of Florida, United States of America, notwithstanding any principles of conflicts of law. TRIP TERMS AND PASSENGER RESPONSIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Your booking offer is strictly limited. As an operator, we sell the services of cruises, hotels, restaurants, airlines, attractions, etc. The operator is not responsible for any intentional or unintentional actions or omissions by suppliers. Your TRAVEL CLUB reserves the right to substitute any services of similar or equal quality. Your TRAVEL CLUB cannot be responsible for circumstances, causes, effects, weather, strikes, bankruptcy, etc., of suppliers. Your TRAVEL CLUB cannot guarantee airlines, flight times, seat assignments, hotels, restaurants, shows, motorcoach vendors, or any other suppliers and changes may occur with regard to those suppliers and the services booked. Changes to the suppliers and/or the services booked have in no way any effect on your ability to cancel or waive the cancellation penalties that will be imposed as a result of your cancellation. If airfare is provided by the TRAVEL CLUB depending on the home air gateway, a forced overnight stay in the originating city may be necessary at the traveler’s expense. Entrance & departure taxes assessed by any city, state, or country cannot be prepaid and will be each person’s responsibility at the time of departure.
Special Needs: Guests with special needs including wheelchairs should be self-sufficient or accompanied by a companion to provide any required assistance. Some ports of call and shore excursions may limit special needs passengers from leaving the vessel. Passengers must bring a wheelchair for their own use and must notify the TRAVEL CLUB before final payment.
Acceptance: Acceptance of cruise or tour participation means that the passenger agrees with all of the terms and conditions and that each participant agrees that your TRAVEL CLUB shall not be liable for any damage, loss, or expenses occasioned by any suppliers. It is also agreed by and between the passenger(s) and your TRAVEL CLUB that all disputes and matters whatever arising under, in connection with, or incidental to this agreement shall be litigated, if at all, in and before a court located in the city of Ft Lauderdale, County of Broward, State of Florida, the U.S.A. to exclusion of the courts of any other city, state or country.
Travel Protection: To help protect your trip and your investment, the purchase of travel protection is highly encouraged. To be eligible for the Pre-Existing Condition Waiver, you must purchase a plan within the time-sensitive period detailed in the plan document. Please ask your travel consultant for qualification details.
